With the help of citizen scientists in the tropical forest of Borneo, a new species of land snail was discovered. A little creature lives along the river bank in the pristine sites of the Borneo tropical forest. The species’ scientific name is Craspedotropis gretathunbergae , in honour of the climate change activist Greta Thunberg. On the one hand, the discovery shows the little knowledge we still have about tropical animal diversity. Second, naming the species after the climate change activist bonds the biodiversity crisis to the climate change phase our generation is phasing.
